Your passions and aspirations will shape your Sixth form journey, alongside our dedicated and experienced teachers and support staff.
With a rich tapestry of A-Level and BTEC courses our pioneering curriculum is shaped around you, allowing you to delve deeper into the subjects that truly captivate your mind and align with your future goals.
We will monitor progress using regular assessments and in-class activities, and you will be able to discuss this, plus any required improvements and challenges, with your subject teachers and Mr. McCallion whenever you need. As families would expect, we will have regular written reports and parents’ evenings to facilitate open and efficient communication. Formal exams at the end of Year 12, and mock exams in Year 13, as well as regular feedback will improve examination technique to ensure each student can reach their true potential.
We welcome both internal and external applicants to Thorpe House Sixth Form where all students will study three qualifications, potentially alongside the EPQ.
In order to obtain a place at Thorpe House Sixth Form, students are required to achieve the GCSE English and Maths at grade 5 or above, and a minimum of 8 GCSEs at grade 4 or above.
Students who may not meet those entry requirements are fully encouraged to discuss their options with Mr McCallion to find the most suitable pathway for them.
