This individualised attention ensures that every boy is challenged and supported in equal measure, helping them to achieve exceptional outcomes in both national baseline tests and GCSE examinations.

Our approach to education goes far beyond exam success. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning while developing the attributes that matter most in today’s world: intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, resilience, leadership and respect. Through a rich and extended Key Stage 4 curriculum, boys are given the opportunity to deepen their understanding of their chosen subjects while also benefitting from innovative programmes and a wide variety of physical and community-based activities.

Learning at Thorpe House extends well beyond the classroom. Our boys are encouraged to find and pursue their niche, whether that’s on the football pitch, in a concert hall, on stage or through technical and backstage roles in performances. The arts, music and sport are central to school life, with every boy given the opportunity to participate, compete and shine.

Trips and experiences are an essential part of the Thorpe House journey. Whether it’s the geography field trips, Battlefields tour, ski trips or our popular football tours across Europe, boys create lifelong memories and friendships through shared adventure. We are also proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award at both Bronze and Silver levels, helping boys to develop resilience, teamwork and a sense of service.

Each June, we host an exciting Activities Week, offering all boys the chance to take part in a wide range of enriching experiences both at home and abroad. From day trips such as the Chelsea Football Club tour and creative arts workshops to overseas adventures including football tours in Miami, cultural exploration in Spain, and scuba diving in Malta, there is something for everyone to enjoy and remember.
