How to Apply for a Scholarship
Our scholarship programme is open to all existing and prospective pupils. For prospective pupils, the application process requires initial registration and completion of the standard admissions process.
Candidates will be required to sit the standard entrance assessment during the autumn term. Those applications who meet the scholarship criteria will then be invited to attend the annual scholarship assessment week prior to the academic year of entry.
To formally apply, please complete our registration form and tick the scholarship box on the online form. Our Registrar will then contact you to confirm the specific dates and times for your child's scholarship assessment. Scholarship assessments are meticulously tailored to the specific talent area, ensuring a fair and thorough evaluation of each candidate's abilities.
Scholarship recipients are expected to actively contribute to school life in their awarded area, enriching our vibrant community and inspiring their peers.

Bursaries: Supporting Families
Bursaries at Thorpe House School are means-tested financial awards designed to provide support to families who would otherwise be unable to afford the full tuition fees of an independent education. Our bursary programme underscores our commitment to accessibility and diversity within our school community.
Thorpe House School offers means-tested bursaries for students from Reception through to Year 11. Bursary places are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and meet the school's standard entrance requirements. This ensures that all bursary recipients are academically capable of thriving within our ambitious environment.

The Application Process
The application process for a bursary is rigorous and requires commitment and full transparency from applying families. To ensure impartiality and a thorough assessment, Thorpe House utilises the services of a third-party organisation, Bursaries Administration Limited (BAL). BAL assesses the financial data provided by families and may conduct interviews to gain a deeper understanding of your financial situation.
To retain a bursary, an annual reassessment of the family's financial situation is required.

Sibling Discounts
In addition to our scholarship and bursary programmes, Thorpe House School offers sibling discounts for families not already receiving other forms of financial aid. This policy provides a 5% reduction on termly fees for the younger sibling of a pupil currently attending the school. If more than two siblings attend Thorpe House, a further 2.5% discount off fees will be offered to each subsequent younger sibling. This discount will be applied for the duration of the elder sibling's education at Thorpe House.
