French

Year 11 French

In the final year of the GCSE course, we will focus on completing the topical requirements of the Themes in order to equip the boys with all necessary vocabulary and grammar needed to achieve GCSE success. In addition, we will stress the importance of revision and examination techniques. Mock examination at the beginning of the spring term will allow us to assess the work done thus far and identify areas of improvement. All work in class is underpinned with exposure to the target language and cultural examples from the francophone world. Teaching and learning are evenly distributed over the four key skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. Boys will be frequently assessed against the GCSE mark scheme and all work done in class will be referenced with its key requirements to ensure their success in the Year 11 examination.
