Upper School Curriculum

We like to think we offer something a little different in our curriculum at Key stage 4.  We start these important GCSE years in year 9 in order to allow the boys to understand the key concepts for each of the subjects they choose.  During this year we give the boys a chance to expand their learning, bringing in practical activities where appropriate and allowing them to extend their knowledge in a given area rather than teaching to the exam. Further details including our long term plans for each subject can be found in the individual Year group pages.  

Through our parent portal, parents and boys will have access to a bespoke scheme to help them at home and further extend their learning for each subject on a termly basis.  This allows for independent learning by the boys and makes for a curriculum which is open and transparent to parents wishing to have a clear understanding of what is being taught.  An example of the Scheme of work provided to the parents is available here.  The Upper School curriculum consists of:
