After our highly successful 'You Tube', 'Google Classroom' and 'Paper-Pack' curriculum during the first half term-and-a-bit of 'lockdown learning', it has been such a happy and rewarding experience having the boys back in school! The teachers were ambitious and creative in designing and self-sourcing such worthwhile learning opportunities for the boys from Reception to Year 3 inclusive, during this historic period in history. Years 4 and 5 benefited from dedicated and specialist on-line 'Google Classroom' lessons, complete with plenty of face-to-face teacher time. Our parent partnership came to the fore in the delivery of this programme for the boys; we literally couldn't have done it without you! It was wonderful seeing the boys on the daily 'Google Meets', but nothing compares to having them back!

Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 returned first, according to Government 'guidance', and they skipped through the gates with total exhilaration, sending any concerns for their wellbeing away with the winds of change that swept around Gerrards Cross!  Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 swiftly followed, bringing more manageable 'bubbles' and brilliant playtimes back to the Thorpe House Lower School field! 

Our beloved Forest School, complete with open air fires and campfire cooking, was soon reinstated! We were thrilled to take possession of our smart new 'Griffin Sports Hall' and 'Griffin Centre', albeit without the deserved opening ceremony; these interesting times dictate necessity. Thorpe House has swung back from the global catastrophe, thanks to new and ambitious leadership, creative teachers, endlessly supportive parents and brilliant boys! Dealing with the crisis - challenging; hearing laughter in our corridors again - priceless!
