The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui

This term the Seniors’ and Miss Smith have been working hard on a production of Bertolt Brecht’s ‘The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui’. The play is a satirical allegory of the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party prior to World War II. The action follows the life of Arturo Ui, a fictional 1930s Chicago mobster and his attempts to control the cauliflower racket by disposing of the opposition.
