GCSE celebrations!

Year 11 pupils throughout the country have been waiting with baited breath for today’s GCSE results to arrive at their school and the boys at Thorpe House are no exception. Since the Senior Department opened ten years ago, pupils have taken advantage of the small class sizes and individual attention to achieve excellent results year on year.

‘Our Year 11s have achieved another strong set of GCSE results this year and I am very proud of their accomplishments; 96% of the boys achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*- C which is a significant achievement. Two of our boys deserve a special mention: Thomas Desborough who achieved 9 ‘A’ grades and 1 ‘A*’ and Haroon Hamid who achieved 6 ‘A’ grades and 1 ‘A*’ grade. I wish all the boys the very best as they take the next steps in their learning journey.’ – Mr Ayres

The boys will continue their education at four sixth form Grammars: Chesham Grammar, Royal Grammar, John Hampden and Burnham Grammar. The remainder will go onto independent school sixth forms including: Berkhamsted, Atlantic College in Wales, UWC (United World College) in London and Mill Hill, also in London.
